Aluna, a provider of an AI-enabled patient-facing respiratory health management app for patients, raised $15.3 million in Series B funding.
Matrix Partners led the investment round with participation from Rho Ignition and Dr. Warner Carr, a California-based allergist whose practice is an early adopter of Aluna’s platform.
The Series B funding comes on the heels of a year of rapid growth, with Aluna adding thousands of new patients to its platform for a year-over-year growth rate of 10x. The company plans to invest both on the product and commercial side to produce more spirometers, make its offering more robust and reach new patients.
Including the latest round, Aluna has raised $27 million in equity funding to date.
With new funds, Aluna plans to commercialize its FDA-approved spirometer and AI-enabled respiratory health management app – that can help doctors provide respiratory care at scale. According to the company, its spirometer device and mobile app encourage patients to easily monitor and share their lung health data online with their doctor – anytime. This information helps doctors immediately identify respiratory diseases and provide customized treatment options for their patients.
