Beaming Health, an online directory of autism care providers that helps families in the U.S. search, find, review, and book autism treatment providers, secured $1.7 million in Seed funding.
NextGen Venture Partners led the investment round with participation from Designer Fund and Tau Ventures, Beaming CEO Marissa Pittard.
Beaming plans to use the new funds to expand its virtual care services to include pediatric therapy for speech and motor skills, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
Online medical appointment booking
Digital health startups providing online medical service booking platforms have raised more than $10 billion in funding to date, according to our funding databse. More recently, DispatchHealth, an online platform for booking in-home care appointments/services, raised $330 million in funding led by Optum Ventures, with participation from Humana, Oak HC/FT, Echo Health Ventures, and Questa Capital. New investors included Adams Street Partners, the Olayan Group, Silicon Valley Bank, Pegasus Tech Ventures, and Blue Shield of California. In another deal, Mindful Care, an online platform for booking same-day mental healthcare appointments, raised $7 million in Series B funding led by Sopris Capital, with participation by the University of Chicago, the Caruso Foundation, and Venkon Group.
