SocialBoat, a provider of women-focused health and fitness programs via its mobile app, raised $200,000 ( ₹1.62 crores) in an angel funding round.
Plan B Capital led the investment round with participation from angel investors, including Abhijit Kane (of Postman), Videt Jaiswal (of Airblack), Bhuvan Gupta (of OfBusiness), and Prateek Sharma (of AheadVC).
The Gurugram-based startup plans to deploy the new proceeds to scale up its fitness programs and hire more talents in 2023.
According to the SocialBoat website, its programs cater to women-specific goals like – managing PCOS, postpartum care and mobility, and general healthy living. The company claims that it has over 5,000 users and 850 communities.
Commenting on the funding news, Swapnil Vats, co-founder of SocialBoat, said: “We have recorded organic growth of 145% month-on-month led by influencers who invited their followers to their teams. In 2023, we aim to scale to tier II cities and explore fitness content in vernacular languages.”

FitOn, a digital fitness and wellness app, raised $40 million in Series C funding, bringing the company’s total funding to date to $70 million. Delta-v Capital led the investment round with participation from Accel, Maverick Ventures, Second Avenue Partners, Mantis VC, and UTA VC.
Palta, a London-based developer of an AI-powered health and wellness app, has raised €84.2 million in Series B funding led by Per Brillioth at VNV Global with participation from Target Global, VNV, Black Ice Capital, and Winter Capital.
Kickoff, a fitness coaching app, raised $7 million in funding led by 645 Ventures with participation from FJ Labs and Expa.
