Ganymed Robotics, an AI-guided surgical robotic assistant for knee arthroplasty, secured an additional €15 million in its extended Series B funding round, bringing the total Series B amount to €36 million.
The Fund of the European Innovation Council and Cap Horn led the investment round with participation from Bpifrance, the French national investment bank.
Cathay Health led the initial Series B financing of €21 million in July 2022, with participation from Crédit Mutuel Innovation, Kurma Partners, and BNP Paribas Développement.
Commenting on the funding news, Sophie Cahen, CEO and co-founder of Ganymed Robotics, said: “Welcoming such highly valuable investors a few months after an oversubscribed Series B first close puts us in a solid position amid a worldwide financing crunch for startups. We now have the resources and expertise to bring our unique patented technology to market, with the aim to become the standard of care for joint replacement.”
According to the press release, the new funds will help the company to complete the development of its surgical robotic assistant for knee arthroplasty, accelerate regulatory and market access activities, and diversify the innovation product pipeline.

- Diagnostic Robotics, a provider of a hybrid AI diagnostic assistant system for hospitals and care providers, raised $45 million in Series B funding led by StageOne Ventures, with participation from Mayo Clinic, Technion, and Bradley Bloom.
- Overjet, an AI-powered dental assistant platform for care providers and payers, raised $42.5 million in Series B funding led by General Catalyst and Insight Partners with participation from returning investors Crosslink Capital and the MIT-affiliated E14 Fund.
- ForSight Robotics, an robotic surgery platform for eye surgeons, raised $55 million in Series A funding led by Adani Group with participation from returning investors Eclipse Ventures, Mithril Capital, and new investors Provenio Capital, Precision Capital, Reiya Ventures, and the Ljungstrom family office.
